NEW DELHI: Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Adesh Gupta distributed 35 Ujwala Gas connections among the poor on Tuesday during the party’s ongoing ‘Jhuggi Samman Yatra’.
The yatra is designed to address the problems of slum dwellers and get them the benefits of various central government schemes. Prominent slum dwellers were also given social service recognition certificates.
The campaign started from ITI Camp, Jahangirpuri, after being flagged off by BJP's national general secretary Dushyant Kumar Gautam, and concluded at Sanjay Colony, Samaypur Badli, with a public meeting.
Former mayor of North Corporation Preety Agrawal said that as part of this campaign, a special sanitation drive is going on in all the slums under the corporation. The campaign will cover most of the slums in the capital.
